SUMMARY:Pearson Talk
DESCRIPTION:by Paul Butler on\nJohn Loughborough Pearson who was a Victorian architect known for his Gothic Revival church designs\, including a major rebuilding and restoration project at the Church of St Cyr’s in Stinchcombe. During the 1854-5 rebuild\, Pearson preserved parts of the 14th-century structure while making significant modifications to the interior\, a process that has drawn modern criticism but was praised at the time. The project involved demolishing some older features and adding new elements in his signature Gothic Revival style\, and a medieval coffin head was discovered during the work.
